Sense of Place Hording

Have you seen the new hoarding along the causeway?

Maldon District is a special place with a unique story to tell. To celebrate this the 'Sense of Place' District Branding has been developed; an instantly recognisable look for Maldon District, a strong identity to help put us on the map. We have worked with Aquila Developments Ltd to install impressive new ‘Sense of Place’ hoarding around the forthcoming Blackwater Retail Park.

Cllr Penny Channer, Chairman of the Council’s Planning and Licensing Committee, said “The new hoarding speaks of the areas distinct and wonderful heritage, culture and environment. It conveys our coastal connection, our independent and timeless character and the District’s gastro experience. By celebrating all that the District offers to individuals, family and businesses we support a vibrant local economy and foster a positive environment for business.”

David Burrows, Economic Development & Partnerships Manager, said “We are pleased to have worked with Aquila Developments Ltd to dramatically improve the look of the Blackwater Retail Park while it is in development. The new ‘Sense of Place’ hoarding has been created using the freely available District Branding assets including colours pallet, graphics, logos and photography. All businesses, stakeholders and groups can use the branding alongside existing company branding to recognise being part of this wonderful place. You can find more information at or”

The District Branding captures the essence of the area, allows you to celebrate being part of it and helps promote the Maldon District with a fresh, bright and distinct identity.
