An apprenticeship event for Maldon District businesses is being held at Plume Community Academy, Fambridge Road, Maldon on Thursday 26th April 2018 from 5pm-7.30pm

The event is being organised by Maldon District Council, Plume Community Academy, and Directions IAG Ltd, to enable local employers to find out more about employing an apprentice.

There will be 3 presentations from:

  • CI Business Solutions - providing useful information on recruiting apprentices, the benefits, and potential funding opportunities.
  • Misha Rosenthall Managing Director of MR Books - a one man band that took on an apprentice 18 months ago talking about her experience and how it has enhanced her business to the point that she is now considering a second apprentice.
  • Maldon District Council - talking about their experiences of apprenticeship recruitment as a large employer.

There will also be an exhibition of training providers with whom businesses can discuss their training needs, and Maldon District based businesses promoting apprenticeship opportunities they may have now or in the future.

Cllr Penny Channer, Chairman of Planning and Licensing said ‘You should not underestimate the positive impact that apprenticeships can have on businesses and the wider economy. Apprentices can inject energy, stimulate ideas and boost productivity.  This event allows businesses to talk to training providers, from a wide variety of industry sectors, as well as employers who are already seeing the benefits of recruiting an apprentice.

Cllr Penny Channer added “This event is an excellent opportunity for businesses, from sole traders to large organisations, to find out more about taking on an apprentice.”

Free light refreshments and on-site parking will be available.
