A celebration of all that is good about volunteering!
VOLFEST ’18 will be held on the Amphitheatre at the Promenade Park, Maldon on Saturday 2nd June 2018 between 11 am and 4 pm, during National Volunteers’ Week (1st to Thursday 7 June, 2018).
Are you looking for volunteers? Would you like to explore opportunities to become a volunteer? Do you know someone who goes that extra mile to help their community? If your answer is yes to any of these questions, then we have the event for you.
Following on from the success of last year’s event, Maldon District Council and Maldon & District Community Voluntary Service are once more working in partnership to bring together providers of volunteering opportunities and members of the public in one event – ‘VOLFEST ‘18.
In conjunction with the event we are also running a special award for volunteers who have gone that extra mile for their community. Awards will be presented by Councillor Henry Bass, Chairman of Maldon District Council at 2pm. If you wish to nominate someone for an award, please contact Linda Dutaut at Maldon and District Community Voluntary Service for more details - email@example.com
If you are a member of the public, please feel free to stroll down on the day and take the opportunity to talk to organisations about volunteering opportunities within our District, whilst taking in the scenery and getting some fresh air.
Linda Dutaut from Maldon & District Community Voluntary Services said “Volunteering is a great way to give back to the community and we know from speaking to volunteers that it’s a great boost to their wellbeing. VOLFEST offers a great opportunity to come along and talk face to face with volunteer involving organisations.”
Councillor Bob Boyce MBE, Chairman of Community Services Committee said “We are proud of the level of volunteering that is already in existence in our District and the great work they do. We hope that by facilitating this event, we can provide organisations with the platform to showcase their business and encourage more people to get involved in their local community”.
The event is free and refreshments can be purchased from the kiosks located around the Promenade Park, or in the nearby High Street. Normal pay and display parking charges will apply for visitors to the event.
If you would like to have a stand to promote your organisation, and the many benefits of volunteering, free of charge, please contact Linda Dutaut at Maldon & District Community Voluntary Services on (01621) 851891 or email firstname.lastname@example.org (by no later than Friday 25th May if booking space in the marquee).
