Refill Essex comes to Burnham-on-Crouch

Congratulations to the team at the Burnham-On-Crouch & District Museum for bringing the Refill Essex campaign to Burnham.
Last week the Burnham-On-Crouch & District Museum unveiled its latest exhibition 'The Plastic Problem', engaging and educating visitors about the impact plastic waste is having on our local and global environment. The event also supported the Refill Essex campaign which encourages cafes, bars, restaurants and other businesses to sign up to become ‘Refill’ stations.
Refill stations enable members of the public to top up their reusable water bottles on the go. As well as keeping people hydrated, this reduces the need for single-use plastic bottles that can have such a devastating impact on the environment.
Refill stations will display the blue Refill window stickers and feature on the free Refill App; available from the App Store or Google Play.
Ben Page, Maldon District Council Health Improvement Officer said, “The Refill campaign will provide Burnham residents with lots of opportunities to not only stay hydrated and live well but to help reduce the use of single-use plastic bottles. There is great ongoing work in Burnham-on-Couch which we are eager to bring to the rest of the District and launch Refill Essex across the Maldon District.”
Refill Essex is supported by Essex & Suffolk Water, Essex Waste Partnership and livewell.
