2018 Conservation & Design Award Winners Announced

The winners of the 35th Maldon District Conservation & Design Awards have been announced.
They include the conservative repair of an 18th-century cottage, the refurbishment and extension of two historic farmhouses, a striking riverside development in the Maldon Conservation Area and the remodelling of a village hall.
Six exemplary projects in total received awards in the annual categories of Building Conservation, Design and Sustainability at a Presentation Ceremony held on the 6 November 2018.
Councillor Penny Channer, Chairman of the Judging Panel, said: “Maldon’s Conservation and Design Awards always bring out the best in this part of Essex. This year’s award-winning projects display a sensitive, intelligent, skilful and pragmatic approach to the most cherished elements of our local environment”.
