As well as being able to top up your parking without the need to return to the car park. Your stay is automatically registered with the civil enforcement officers, so you do not need to display a paper ticket.

The app is available for iPhone and Android devices and can be downloaded for free from Google Play and the App Store. Full instructions of how register with RingGo and purchase your desired length of stay are available on all parking machines.

Coins are still accepted at all our off-street parking machines.

There is a 15p charge for each time you use the RingGo pay-by-phone service.

Cllr Bob Boyce MBE, Chairman Community Services, said: "People are increasingly using phones to do their daily business across the private and public sectors, whether that's accessing services on the Council's website or doing online shopping. Pay-by-phone is a more convenient option for some people and has already proved popular elsewhere in the country.

The Council is always looking for new and innovative ways to improve parking options and this support our vision to provide excellent services and value for money. We welcome this initiative that makes it even quicker and easier for people using our car parks.”
