The Council was pleased to have supported Reserves Day,
Reservists make up one sixth of the country’s Armed Forces, each balancing civilian life with a military career so that they are ready to serve in the military should their country need them. Their contribution to the military is key and yet their contribution often goes unrecognised.
Wednesday 26th June 2019 was Reserves Day – a day to thank Reservists for their commitment to serving this country and for their dedication to their roles. It is also an opportunity to raise the profile of Reservists as they wear their military uniforms in their civilian lives for this day.
Maldon District Council is proud to support Reserves Day and the professionalism and commitment that Reservists bring to their roles.
Cllr Bob Boyce, MBE, Chairman of Maldon District Council, said; “The Maldon District is very proud of the Country’s Armed Forces and recognises the efforts of the Reservists who dedicate themselves to the service of the United Kingdom. The Council shows its appreciation of all the Armed Forces by supporting Armed Forces Weekend events and by flying the Armed Forces Day flag.”
