Coronavirus – Community Organisations Come Together To Support Our Community
Published on Tuesday, 24th March 2020
Organisations from across the Maldon District are coming together to ensure that our Community are supported throughout the Coronavirus (COVID-19) epidemic.
With the support of our partners, this joined up approach will enable us to;
- Build capacity in the Essex Befriends service
- Request that food and supply donations are dropped to Salvation Army
- Appealing for volunteers for the Dengie food bank
- Ensure that people know to check that neighbours, friends and family are able to access the telephone support if they need it
Cllr Adrian Fluker, Leader of Maldon District Council, said; “We are all living in what are unprecedented times, so as community leaders, it is vital that together we support the community in whatever way we are able. We have produced a Covid-19 Community Pack which will provide lots of advice and guidance and we hope you find this useful. In addition, the Council and our partners have come together to provide this joined up approach and I would urge residents to sign up if you can spare some time to Volunteer or register if you or someone you know needs help and support.”
