Garden Waste Collection Service Open to New Subscribers
Published on Thursday, 6th August 2020
Maldon District Council is pleased to announce that new subscribers can once again sign up to its popular garden waste collection service.
An additional vehicle and crew were introduced to the collection fleet on 4 August 2020 giving extra capacity and allowing more residents to make use of this popular service. If residents are interested in joining, more information, including the fees, is available at www.maldon.gov.uk/waste
In 2019, the service reached full capacity and the difficult decision was taken to stop offering the services to new subscribers. Since then, Maldon District Council has been working closely with its contractors (Suez Recycling and Recovery UK) to agree a solution which would allow the service to be expanded and ensure that as many people as possible are able to join the service.
Anyone who had already expressed an interest has been contacted with details on how to now join the service and over 1100 subscribers have already signed up. The Council’s contractors have also been busy delivering green wheeled bins to residents.
Councillor Adrian Fluker, Leader of Maldon District Council, said; “I am delighted that we can once again offer the garden waste collection service to new subscribers. This proves to be a very popular service that is convenient for gardeners and excellent value for money.
“We hope that the service continues to be a useful one and encourage anyone who would like to sign up to visit www.maldon.gov.uk/waste to find out more.”
