Maldon District Council announces new operator for Maldon Splash Park.

Maldon District Council is pleased to announce that once the refurbishment of the popular Splash Park in Promenade Park is complete, Places Leisure who currently run the Blackwater Leisure and Dengie Hundred Leisure centres, will be taking over the operational management of the Splash Park this Year.

The Splash Park is due to re-open in July and Places Leisure will shortly be recruiting additional staff to join the Splash Park Team.

The day-to-day operation of the Splash Park will be an extension to their current leisure activities and when the system is ready, bookings will be made through the Leisure Centres website.

Councillor Penny Channer, Leader of Maldon District Council, said; “I am delighted that Places Leisure have seized the opportunity to manage the day to day running of the Splash Park on our behalf. I am looking forward to seeing visitors return to this extremely popular attraction once the refurbishment is complete.”

Jeremy Boreham, Area Manager for Places Leisure added, “The Splash Park is a much-loved community facility, and we are excited to partner with Maldon District Council to support its delivery and offering. The fun and brightly coloured water features are fantastic for all to enjoy and a great way to build children’s water confidence; getting them swim ready whilst enjoying the great outdoors’’.
