Season Flu and COVID Vaccination Uptake in Maldon District

As we are now approaching the final weeks of the COVID and Flu Vaccination ahead of the peak winter period, please see the Information that summarises ‘Who’ is eligible for the vaccinations, ‘How’ they can book their vaccinations and ‘Where’ the vaccination clinics are being held locally.

COVID and Flu Vaccinations – who is eligible?

Flu Vaccine Eligibility COVID Vaccine Eligibility – Autumn Booster – Appointment should be at least 91 days after previous dose

50 and over (including those who’ll be 50 by 31 March 2023)

50 or over

Aged 6 months to 50 years in a clinical at-risk group

Pregnant Women

Aged 5 years or older and at high risk due to health condition or weakened immune system

In long-stay residential care

Aged 16 years or older and lives with someone who has a weakened immune system

Receive a carer’s allowance, or are the main carer for an older or disabled person who may be at risk if you get sick

Aged 16 years or older and a carer (either paid or unpaid)

Living with someone who is more likely to get infections. For example, someone who has HIV, has had a transplant or is having certain treatments for cancer, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis

Frontline health or social care worker

Children aged 2 and 3 years on 31st August 2022

Please note: for all eligibility groups listed above we are specifically targeting individuals with Severe Mental Illness and Learning Difficulties.

How can local residents book their vaccinations?

Flu Vaccination

Telephone: local residents should refer to the table below and telephone the GP Practice they are registered with or any of the pharmacies that are listed. Pharmacies also accept walk-in patients who are eligible for the vaccine with no pre-booking required.

Local residents also have the option of booking a COVID vaccination appointment at a walk-in-centre run by our local partner, Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. This is offered to patients over 18 years on the Community Vaccination Bus located on Burnham-on-Crouch High Street.  Please see their website below for further information and opening times:

If local residents are experiencing issues with booking their vaccinations, then they can contact the Referral Service on 0300 123 0771 Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm for assistance.
