Maldon District Council Pays Tribute To NHS By Lighting Up The Council Offices In Blue

Maldon District Council Offices will be lit up in blue on Wednesday, 5 July to mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS.
Landmark buildings across the UK will honouring the dedication and hard work of NHS staff over the past 75 years. The blue light is a symbol of the NHS, and the offices will be lit up in blue for the evening to show appreciation for the work of the NHS past and present.
Cllr Kevin Lagan, Chairman of Maldon District Council, said: "We are proud to be joining others in marking this occasion by lighting up our Council Offices, to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the NHS.
“The NHS has made huge differences for the better in the lives of many, with free and quality care for all, from the founding days through to the pandemic and beyond – as well as a providing a vital, global contribution to health care, medicine and technology.
“We are indebted to everyone who works in the NHS for their dedication and care and we are proud to show our support by lighting up our offices and say a huge ‘thank you’ to all NHS staff, past and present.”
The lighting of Maldon District Council Offices is just one of many events taking place across the UK to celebrate the 75th Anniversary of the NHS. Other events include public displays, Park Runs, fundraising events and a special service for NHS staff, volunteers and partners at Westminster Abbey.
