Maldon District to receive up to £5m for Culture from Levelling Up Fund

Published on Thursday, 7th March 2024

As part of the Spring Budget (6 March 2024), Maldon District Council has been provisionally awarded up to £5 million of capital funding to support local culture projects in the district. This provisional funding recognises the crucial role culture can play in levelling up and supporting pride in place.

The Council will be invited to submit an investment plan later this year that demonstrates how it will support cultural activity. Further information on the process will be provided to the Council in April.

Leader of Maldon District Council, Cllr Richard Siddall said, “This exciting and significant allocation aims to address some of the needs identified within the district as a Priority One Levelling Up area. We look forward to receiving further information and guidance from Government on the process shortly.”
