Maldon District Council is delighted to announce the return of festive free parking in the run-up to Christmas.

This initiative aims to support local businesses and make it easier for residents and visitors to enjoy the holiday season in Maldon’s Town Centre.

To kick off the festivities, the Council is supporting the ‘Light Up Maldon’ event on Thursday 28th November with free parking available from 4pm at Friary Fields, Butt Lane, White Horse Lane, and Promenade Park car parks.

In addition, free parking will be provided in Maldon’s Town Centre car parks only from 2pm on Thursday 5th, 12th, and 19th December, and all day on Christmas Eve.

Cllr Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council, said: “We are excited to bring back our Festive Free Parking scheme this year. This initiative not only supports our local businesses, but also encourages residents and visitors to enjoy all that Maldon has to offer. We hope this makes your Christmas shopping easier and any celebrations even more enjoyable.”

Normal charges will apply in Promenade Park during December.
