Maldon District Council Appoints Bendcrete Leisure Ltd for Skatepark Upgrade Project
Published on Friday, 6th December 2024
Maldon District Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Bendcrete Leisure Ltd to deliver their much-anticipated Skatepark Upgrade Project.
This initiative will see a complete overhaul and upgrade of the skateparks at Promenade Park in Maldon, and Riverside Park in Burnham-on-Crouch, as well as the construction of a brand-new skatepark at West Maldon Community Centre.
These exciting developments are part of the Council's Section 106 Youth Facilities Programme. Earlier this year, a public survey was conducted to gather views from skatepark users on the current skateparks in Promenade Park and Riverside Park. The feedback received has been instrumental in shaping the new designs for these facilities.
Subject to any necessary planning consent, works are scheduled to begin in the new year, with an expected completion date of August 2025. To ensure the designs meet the needs and expectations of the community, Bendcrete Leisure Ltd will be holding face-to-face user group meetings over the coming weeks.
Councillor Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council, said: "I am delighted that we are moving forward with the Skatepark Upgrade Project. These new and improved facilities will provide fantastic spaces for skatepark users to enjoy and develop their skills. The feedback from our public survey has been invaluable, and we look forward to seeing the final designs come to life."
More information about the project will be published on the Council’s social media and website.
