Maldon District Council Shortlisted for Essex Housing Award
Published on Tuesday, 5th August 2025
Maldon District Council is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted for the prestigious Essex Housing Awards 2025, in the category of ‘Meeting Housing Need – Homelessness’.
The Essex Housing Awards celebrate excellence in housing development, services, and innovation across the county. The awards recognise organisations and projects that are making a real difference to communities by delivering high-quality, sustainable housing and support services.
Maldon District Council’s nomination follows the successful refurbishment and occupation of emergency accommodation facilities within the District. This vital project has already helped individuals and families facing homelessness by providing safe, secure, and adapted temporary housing while longer-term solutions are found.
Cllr Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council, said: “Being shortlisted for this award is a real testament to the hard work and commitment of our officers. Tackling homelessness is a top priority for us. This project shows what we can achieve when we focus on practical solutions that deliver real results for people in need.”
The winners of the Essex Housing Awards 2025 will be announced at a ceremony on Thursday 16 October.
