Remembrance Day – Sunday 9th November
Maldon Town Council will be holding a Remembrance Service on Sunday 9th November at 10.50am at the War Memorial in Maldon High Street, led by Father Andrew Appiah of St. Mary’s Church. The Chairman of Maldon District Council, Councillor Kevin Lagan will be attending.
Burnham-on-Crouch Town Council is holding a Remembrance Day Memorial Service at Burnham-on-Crouch War Memorial at 10.45am with a parade starting from the Baptist Church at 10.30am. The Vice Chairman of Maldon District Council, Councillor Ron Pratt, will be in attendance.
Both services are in conjunction with the Royal British Legion. Everyone is welcome to attend.
Armistice Day – Tuesday 11th November
Two minutes silence will be observed at the Hythe Quay, Maldon and the War Memorial, Burnham-on-Crouch at 11:00 am on Tuesday 11 November.
The Chairman of Maldon District Council, Councillor Kevin Lagan, will be in attendance at the Hythe Quay, Maldon and the Vice Chairman, Councillor Ron Pratt, will be in attendance at the War Memorial, Burnham-on-Crouch.
Serving personnel, ex-serving personnel, their families, cadets and members of the public would be most welcome to attend either venue to mark this occasion. Please arrive by 10:45 am.
Please note that maroons will be fired at both locations to mark the silence at 11:00 am.
