Affordable housing
Affordable homes are built for people who are unable to afford to rent or buy property available on the open market.
Affordable homes can include properties for social rent, affordable rent, intermediate rent or for shared ownership or other part buy/part rent schemes.
To apply for an affordable home, you need to register online at Gateway to Homechoice.
The 'waiting list'
Gateway to Homechoice (the housing 'waiting list') is a choice based letting scheme which means that you get to choose from a selection of homes available.

To apply for housing, you must first register online at Gateway to Homechoice. We will need to make enquiries to confirm what you have told us and find out more information and will ask for your permission before we seek information from anyone else. All information will be treated confidentially. Once your application has been assessed we will write to you to confirm your banding.

If you are a council or housing association tenant in the Gateway to Homechoice area or on our register, you can join House Exchange or HomeSwapper to look for a new home
