A discount can be applied if the sole owner/tenant of a property passes away leaving the property unoccupied. If the property remains occupied this discount will not apply but you may be eligible for a single person discount if only one person is now living at the address.
The deceased discount is applied providing the property has been unoccupied since the occupier's death and no grant of probate or letters of administration have been made.
The discount ceases six months after probate or letters of administration have been granted or in one of the following situations:
- The property is passed to a beneficiary
- The property becomes occupied or has been sold
- The tenancy of the property ends
