The following centres have been approved to carry out inspections for taxis and private hire vehicles.

- Latchingdon Garage Limited, 11 The Street, Latchingdon, Chelmsford CM3 6JP
- Providence Protech, 10 Springfield Industrial Estate, Springfield Road, Burnham-on-Crouch CM0 8UA
A vehicle inspection sheet for taxis and private hire vehicles can be taken along to one of the approved test centres. The test centre will undertake checks in line with the Mechanical Inspections Standards Manual. It will help explain why a vehicle may not have been issued with a pass certificate.
