Cemeteries, Locations and Opening Times
Gates will be open at the following times except during severe weather conditions (such as high winds) where they may be locked for your safety.
Maldon Cemetery
Location – London Road, Maldon. CM9 6LJ
Opening times – 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 08:00 until dusk
Maldon Cemetery is the largest of the cemeteries owned and run by the Council, with a lawn section for full burials, as well as a large Woodland Burial site, and cremated remains sections and areas for scattering ashes. There is also the Primrose Garden which is specifically designed and set aside for the burials of children and babies.
The cemetery has an on-site chapel, with arched windows and doors, and seating for approximately 30 people. The gothic style of the chapel makes for lovely surroundings for a full service and respectful day. There is a parking area and toilet facilities to the side of the chapel, with an attractive walk towards either the lawn section, the Woodland Glade and the Garden of Remembrance.

Heybridge Cemetery
Location – Goldhanger Road, Heybridge. Essex. CM9 4QR
Opening times – 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 08:00 until dusk
Heybridge Cemetery has a chapel with stained glass windows and seating for around 35 people.
There is a lawn section for full burials and a Garden of Remembrance for cremated remains. Situated off of Goldhanger road, it is the smallest cemetery in the District with limited parking.

Burnham-on-Crouch Cemetery
Location – Southminster Road, Burnham on Crouch, Essex. CM0 8QF
Opening times – 7 days a week, 365 days a year. 08:00 until dusk
The cemetery has a chapel on site which although no longer in use, is still a focal point on entering the cemetery via Southminster Road.
This Cemetery has sections for lawn burials as well as a Garden of Remembrance for cremated remains and a natural woodland burial site within the grounds.
You are able to visit War Graves in this Cemetery.
Funerals
Funerals usually take place between
01 March – 30 September 10:00 – 16:00 Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays)
01 October – 28 February 10:00 – 15:00 Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays)

Works may take place within the cemeteries at any time during daylight hours.
All cemeteries have WC facilities. There are external water taps and bins located around the cemeteries to allow families to maintain their grave spaces.
