You must tell us right away if any of your circumstances change as this could affect how much council tax you need to pay or the amount of benefit that you get.
- Report a change of circumstance (you will need to create an online account)
- Report a change of address
- Report a change of tenants (for landlords to use)
- Apply for a discount
The type of changes we need to know about are as follows:
- If your rent changes
- If your income or savings for your household change
- If anyone moves in or out of your home
- If you change your address
- If you change your name
These are only some of the changes that you must tell us about. If you are not sure whether a change needs reporting tell us anyway.
We may require proof of your change but if you cannot give us all the information straight away you should still submit your change. We will let you know if we need more details.
If you are getting benefits or pensions from the Department for Work and Pensions you will need to tell them also.
