Surface water flooding

Essex County Council is the Lead Flood Authority responsible for dealing with flooding from surface water, groundwater and ordinary watercourses.

Essex County Council will investigate and produce reports on significant flooding and work with Maldon District Council and the Environment Agency to manage flood risk and where necessary commission works to prevent surface water runoff and groundwater flooding.
