Bees are generally harmless and are not a pest or a threat.
They usually only attack when their life is under threat. If a bee comes near you, do not wave your arms around wildly, stand quietly and they will move gently away.
There are three main types of bees found in England: bumble bees, mining bees and honey bees. Further information can be found from The British Beekeepers Association who can also help with the removal of honey bee swarms.
