The Maldon District Renewable and Low Carbon Technologies Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) provides further detailed technical guidance to support LDP Policies S1, D2 and D4. It sets out the issue's applicants will need to consider when considering proposals for renewable and low carbon technology development schemes in the District and for the use of sustainable building standards in both residential and non-residential developments.
The document aims to protect and enhance the character and appearance of the District and promote sustainable, cost-effective and efficient development that benefits the environment and the community as well.
Following a six-week public consultation exercise during the winter 2018 and passage through the Planning and Licensing Committee, the Council adopted the Maldon District Renewable and Low Carbon Technologies SPD on 10 May 2018.
