The Maldon Grinch was asked if he would go even greener this Christmas by showing how easy it is to purchase eco-friendly products, all of which have been donated to the local food bank.

The Maldon Grinch was joined at Tesco Maldon, by Cllr Penny Channer, Leader of the Council, Climate Action Officer Claire Williamson and Rhiain Oakley, Tesco Community Champion, who helped him fill his trolley with lots of wonderful eco-friendly products in between having selfies with delighted shoppers.

Cllr Penny Channer, Leader of Maldon District Council, said; “I totally appreciate the challenging times we currently all face.  However, we can all try to do our bit in supporting Climate Change as part of the ‘Our Home, Our Future’ Climate Action strategy, and continue to care for our environment.

“I am delighted that the Maldon Grinch has given some of his time to show that going green is easy.  The trolley load of eco-friendly products has been donated to local food banks; we are very thankful to the Maldon Grinch for helping us with our shopping.”
