Maldon District Council is excited to announce the upcoming RideLondon Community Fun Day, set to take place at Promenade Park in Maldon on Saturday, 25th May 2024, from 10am to 12pm.

This vibrant event promises a range of free activities suitable for all ages and is a fantastic opportunity for the community to come together in the spirit of health, fun, and cycling.

The event will feature free bike repairs and advice from Dr Bike, ensuring that everyone’s bicycles are in top condition.

Residents must book online in advance if they wish to use Dr Bike on the day. Additionally, the Maldon District Community Safety Partnership will be offering bike security marking to help protect your bicycles against theft.

Active Essex and Blackwater Leisure Centre will be present to provide engaging activities and valuable information, while a variety of family-friendly fun and games will ensure a delightful experience for all family members.

Councillor Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council, expressed his enthusiasm for the event: “The RideLondon Community Fun Day is a testament to our commitment to fostering a vibrant, active, and connected Maldon District. We’re inviting everyone to join us for a morning of excitement and community engagement. It’s more than just an event; it’s a celebration of our collective passion for cycling and healthy living.”

In conjunction with the Community Fun Day, the Maldon District is also proud to host the prestigious RideLondon Classique. On the same day, the world’s best female cyclists will grace our roads as part of the UCI Women’s World Tour road race.

The Classique, now a three-day stage race, will see its second stage start and finish in the heart of Maldon, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day’s festivities.

Both events are free to attend, and we encourage everyone to come down and enjoy what promises to be a memorable day of cycling, community, and fun.
