Election of a Town Councillor for the Parish Ward listed below

  1. Nomination papers can be obtained at Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5DL from the Acting Returning Officer, or downloaded here from the Electoral Commission website.
     
  2. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5DL on any day after the date of this notice, on Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm but no later than 4pm on Friday 19 July 2024.  Please contact our elections team on elections@maldon.gov.uk to book an appointment to deliver your papers.
     
  3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 15 August 2024.
     
  4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Tuesday 30 July 2024. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
     
  5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5DL by 5pm on Wednesday 31 July 2024. New applications can be made online: Apply for a postal vote - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
     
  6. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5DL by 5pm on Wednesday 7 August 2024. Applications can be made online: Apply for a proxy vote - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
     
  7. Applications for Voter Authority Certificates must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5DL by 5pm on Wednesday 7 August 2024. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate.
     
  8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5DL by 5 pm on Thursday 15 August 2024.  The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5 pm on Wednesday 7 August 2024.  To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5 pm on Wednesday 7 August 2024.
