Local Government Ombudsman Complaints
Published on Tuesday, 6th August 2024
Maldon District Council has received positive feedback from the Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman (LGO) on the way that it handles complaints.
In its annual letter, the LGO fed back that that it agreed with the way that the Council had dealt with complaints. The LGO has not upheld any complaints against the Council in recent years.
In fact, the LGO has not required the Council to make improvements or any public interest reports since 2018, showing satisfaction with how the Council handles complaints and indicating that it addresses issues effectively and fairly.
Cllr Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council, said “This recent letter from the Local Government Ombudsman demonstrates the Council’s commitment to thorough and fair complaint resolution.
“The fact that the LGO has not found the need to uphold any complaints or mandate service improvements suggests that the Council’s internal mechanisms for dealing with complaints are robust.”
