Maldon District Council is delighted to announce the completion of the Valley Play Area upgrade in Maldon’s Promenade Park. Construction works on the play area have recently been completed, and following the required independent safety assessment, the Valley Play Area was successfully commissioned and opened to the public on Thursday 17 October.

To help celebrate, the Council held an official opening of the play area on Monday 28 October. The event was attended by the Chairman, Leader, and fellow councillors, together with the suppliers of the new equipment, Kompan, and members of the public.

This project has been made possible through funding support from the Government’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund. The play area upgrade was delivered in partnership with Kompan, who are market leaders in supplying high-quality and innovative play equipment for children of all ages to enjoy.

Cllr Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council, said; “I am thrilled to see the Valley Play Area upgrade completed and open to the public. This new play area is a fantastic addition to Promenade Park and provides a safe and fun environment for our residents and visitors to the Park.

“Over the last few months, the Council has invested £457,000 in new, modern play equipment both in Maldon and Burnham-on-Crouch, some of which has come from the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.

“I hope that this significant investment will attract more families to our parks, encouraging children to be active and improve their physical health.

“I am also pleased to say that the investment in our parks will continue into next year with a significant investment in three exciting new skateparks, planned for Promenade Park, Riverside Park, and West Maldon Community Centre, more details on this will come soon.”
