Maldon District Council Achieves Platinum Status in Exemplar Awards

Maldon District Council is proud to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Platinum status in this year's Exemplar Awards for Address and Street Data.
This remarkable achievement is testament to the consistent excellence and tireless dedication of the Council’s resources team in maintaining high standards of data quality.
The Exemplar Awards recognise outstanding commitment to data management, and the Platinum Award is presented to councils that have achieved gold status across all criteria of the Annual Improvement Schedule for 10 out of 12 months up to the end of March 2025. Receiving this award underscores the Council’s unwavering commitment to accuracy, reliability, and continuous improvement in data quality.
The Council’s team works diligently throughout the year, ensuring that the data pertaining to addresses and streets are meticulously maintained, reflecting the highest standards. This accomplishment is not just a milestone for the Council, but a collective success that highlights the dedication of everyone involved in Gazetteer work.

· The Exemplar Awards are run by GeoPlace, a public sector limited liability partnership between the Local Government Association and Ordnance Survey. They celebrate excellence in address and street data management across local authorities in England and Wales.
· The Annual Improvement Schedule is a framework used to assess the quality and maintenance of address and street data submitted by local authorities.
· Gazetteer work involves the management of the Local Land and Property Gazetteer (LLPG) and Local Street Gazetteer (LSG), which are critical for service delivery, emergency response, and infrastructure planning.
