Maldon District Council Announces Free Cinema Screenings This Summer

Maldon District Council is delighted to announce two exciting, free outdoor cinema events this summer.

The screenings will take place in two of the District’s most popular parks: 

Riverside Park, Burnham-on-Crouch – Saturday 2 August. 

  • Moana (PG) – Gates open at 16:30, film starts at 17:00. 
    A spirited Polynesian teenager sets sail on a daring mission to save her people in this animated Disney adventure full of heart, humour, and unforgettable songs. 

  • The Greatest Showman (PG) – Gates open at 19:30, film starts at 20:00. 
    Inspired by the story of P.T. Barnum, this musical celebrates the birth of show business with dazzling performances and a powerful message of inclusion. 

Promenade Park, Maldon – Saturday 23 August 

  • Cars (PG) – Gates open at 16:30, film starts at 17:00.
    A hotshot race car named Lightning McQueen discovers the true meaning of friendship and humility in this Pixar classic. 

  • Grease (PG) – Gates open at 19:30, film starts at 20:00.
    The beloved musical romance set in the 1950s follows the summer love of Danny and Sandy, featuring iconic songs and high-energy dance numbers. 

These events are completely free to attend, with no booking required. Families are encouraged to bring blankets, picnic chairs, and snacks to enjoy a fun-filled evening under the stars.

This is a perfect opportunity to bring our communities together, supporting local wellbeing, and making the most of our shared spaces.”
