Maldon District Council wins Gold Award at the RSPCA PawPrints Awards 2025

Maldon District Council is proud to announce that it has won a gold award for animal activity licensing at the RSPCA PawPrints Awards 2025 - the only scheme of its kind in England and Wales.
This prestigious honour recognises our leadership in raising welfare standards across animal-related businesses through collaboration and robust regulation.
The PawPrints Awards celebrate local authorities, public bodies, and partners that go the extra mile to protect and promote animal welfare.
Speaking about the award, Cllr Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council said: “We are delighted to receive this award, which recognises the dedication of our staff, partners and the community. Animal welfare is at the heart of what we do, and we’re proud to be setting high standards in animal activity licensing.”
Lee Gingell, Public Affairs Manager at the RSPCA, added: “We’re delighted to recognise Maldon District Council with the gold award for animal activity licensing in this year’s RSPCA PawPrints Awards. Their commitment to animal welfare is truly commendable, and we hope their example inspires others to strive for excellence.”
