Maldon District Council to Upgrade Promenade Park Skatepark this Winter
Published on Monday, 27th October 2025
Maldon District Council is pleased to announce that the overhaul and upgrade of the skatepark at Promenade Park in Maldon is due to begin this week.
Following the decision of the Council's Central Area Planning Committee on Wednesday 22 October 2025, this exciting project is the final phase of the Council's Section 106 Youth Facilities Programme, which will see the current skatepark replaced with a larger and modern facility.
Last year, a public survey was conducted to gather views from skatepark users on the skateparks in Promenade Park and Riverside Park. The feedback received was instrumental in shaping the new designs for these facilities and saw the first phase completed with the construction of new skateparks at West Maldon Community Centre, and Riverside Park in Burnham-on-Crouch.
The works will be carried out by Bendcrete Skateparks Ltd, and are scheduled to begin this week, with an expected completion date of Spring 2026.
Councillor Richard Siddall, Leader of Maldon District Council, said: "I am delighted that we are moving forward with the final phase of the Skatepark Upgrade Project. This new and improved facility will provide a fantastic space for skatepark users to enjoy and develop their skills."
More information about the works will be published on the Council’s social media and website.
