A Big Festive Week in Maldon

Maldon is gearing up for a sparkling start to the festive season, with a big week in Maldon, a whole week of festive cheer to the town centre and Promenade Park.
The festivities begin when the Maldon town centre Christmas lights are switched on at 6pm on Thursday 27th November as part of Light Up Maldon, the town’s much-loved Christmas Light Switch-On event.
From 5pm to 9pm, Maldon High Street will be transformed into a festive wonderland, filled with live music, street entertainment, stalls, and plenty of seasonal sparkle as the lights are switched on to mark the start of the Christmas season.
Adding extra festive fun throughout the weekend, a spectacular Observation Wheel will take pride of place at Promenade Park from Thursday 27th to Sunday 30th November, offering breathtaking views over Maldon and the River Blackwater. The attraction will operate at the following times and is chargeable.
• Thursday: 4pm – 9pm
• Saturday: 11am – 9pm
• Sunday: 10am – 4pm
To round off the week, the celebrations continue with a brand-new Christmas Market at Promenade Park on Sunday 30th November, from 10am to 4pm. Visitors can enjoy a day of shopping, food, and festive cheer by the Estuary, with local traders offering seasonal treats, handmade gifts, and Christmas goodies.
From twinkling lights in the High Street to the sweeping views from the Observation Wheel and the festive buzz of the Promenade Park Market -this is the perfect way to kick off the Christmas season in Maldon.
