- Nomination papers may be obtained at Maldon District Council’s website or downloaded from the Electoral Commission website LGE Nomination pack incl election agent notification form or from the Deputy Returning Officer, who will, at the request of an elector for any electoral area prepare a nomination paper for signature.
- Nomination papers must be hand delivered to the Deputy Returning Officer, Council Offices, Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5DL on any working day after the date of this notice (excluding bank holidays) on Monday to Friday 10am to 4pm but no later than 4pm on Thursday 9 April 2026. Please contact the elections team to book an appointment to deliver the paperwork.
- If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday 7 May 2026.
- Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12 midnight on Monday 20 April 2026. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote.
- Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Council Offices, Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5DL by 5pm on Tuesday 21 April 2026. New applications can be made online: Apply for a postal vote - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
- New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Council Offices, Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5DL by 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026. Applications can be made online: Apply for a proxy vote - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk)
- Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026. Applications can be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate
- Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election on grounds of physical incapacity or for work/service reasons must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Council Offices. Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM9 5DL by 5pm on Thursday 7 May 2026. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5pm on Tuesday 28 April 2026.
