Member Appointments for the Municipal Year 2026/27

Appointments were made for the 2026/27 municipal year at Council on 14 May 2026.
At the Statutory Annual meeting of Council held on Thursday 14 May, Councillor Ron Pratt was appointed as Chairman of Maldon District Council.
Councillor Pratt said: “I am honoured to have been elected Chairman of Maldon District Council for the coming municipal year. It is a privilege to represent the Council and recognise the excellent work taking place across our community.”
Councillor Simon Morgan, who has been appointed as Leader of Maldon District Council, said: “I am honoured to have been appointed as Leader of Maldon District Council and I am grateful for the confidence shown by Members.
“It is an important time for Local Government, with one of the biggest changes since 1974, and I will do my best to ensure that the Council will continue to deliver on the priorities set out in our Corporate Plan and provide the best possible services for residents.”
