Become our Mural Artist for Promenade Park
Published on Monday, 12th October 2026
Maldon District Council is looking to appoint a mural artist to make a splash in the riverside setting of Promenade Park.
The successful artist will be painting a mural on the Amphitheatre in the park, an area that is currently a blank canvas.
Artists are invited to bid for the design and delivery of the mural at what is a prominent community location. The process will involve four stages, commencing with written proposals from artists interested in the project and culminating with engagement to get the public’s views on the proposals.
Cllr Simon Morgan, Leader of Maldon District Council said; “Promenade Park is a much-loved facility which receives thousands of visitors every year, from those who walk their dogs there every day to those who travel from far and wide for events.
"Having your artwork on display in the park in the form of a 20-metre mural is an incredible opportunity for one lucky artist and I'm excited to see what the project brings to our park."
Written proposals for the project are being accepted now and until Friday 23 October.
The design brief for this project is available at maldon.gov.uk/muraldesignbrief
Artists wishing to be considered for the project must complete an expression of interest at maldon.gov.uk/business_opportunities.
