Update 30 October 2025
Thank you to everyone who has taken part in the trial. The trial has proven to be extremely successful and importantly will help shape the nationwide rollout of the collection of plastic bags and wrapping.
We are now able to extend plastic bags and wrapping recycling to more households in the District.
The expansion of this service will be done in phases (starting in November 2025) and our crews will place a sticker on your grey wheeled bin to let you know when you can start to recycle plastic bags and wrapping in your pink sack mixed with your other recycling. Residents who don't have a wheelie bin will be sent a letter to let them know when they are enrolled onto the service.
