Dog fouling

You can use any type of public litter or dog waste bin to dispose of your dog mess. These bins are located around the District in areas of need, following requests from residents, Parish Councils or community groups.

Dog bins are emptied regularly, but if you spot an overflowing bin please report an overflowing dog waste bin

Failing to clear up after a dog in any public open space is an offence and you could receive a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) and/or a fine of up to £1000.

If you pay the FPN within 14 days no further action will be taken. If you do not pay the FPN within that time, you will be prosecuted and, if convicted, could receive a fine up to £1000.
