Garden waste collection service

Update 12 January 2021

Due to end of year processing and in preparation for the annual renewal process we are not processing new applications to join the garden waste collection service.

You can still register your interest in joining the scheme by completing our online application form and we will write to you in March with details on how to join the scheme in April when the new subscription year starts.

The collection of garden waste is not part of the standard refuse or recycling collection service.  However, we are able to provide a green waste wheeled bin kerbside service for a small annual fee.  Please note that if your refuse and recycling collections are made by our small waste collection vehicle (ISO collections) we are unable to offer a garden waste service to these addresses due to vehicle size restrictions.

 About the service

Garden waste wheeled bins are not provided free of charge and need to be purchased from the Council in addition to the annual subscription fee for collections.(Fees will be published in February 2021 for the forthcoming subscription year).  Further details on the service, including the cost, how to pay and your unique reference number will be sent out in March 2021 to residents who have registered an interest in joining the scheme.

Collections are made on your usual scheduled waste collection day. Please refer to your collection calendar to confirm your garden waste collection dates.

Place your wheeled bin on your front boundary by 7am on the morning of collection and make sure your wheeled bin can be seen, do not hide it behind a wall.  Collection times may vary from week to week, so it is very important that your wheeled bin is on your front boundary by 7am. For further information please refer to the terms and conditions.
