Garden waste collection service
14.5.2019 - This service is now running at full capacity and we regret that we are unable to process any further applications to join the service or requests for an additional bin at this time. If you have recently submitted an application, we will write to you as soon as capacity becomes available. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused.
The collection of garden waste is not part of the standard refuse or recycling collection service. However, we are able to provide a green waste wheeled bin kerbside service for a small annual fee. Please note that if your refuse and recycling collections are made by our small waste collection vehicle (ISO collections) we are unable to offer a garden waste service to these addresses due to vehicle size restrictions.
The subscription year runs from 1 April to 31 March. Residents wishing to join the scheme between 1 April and 30 September will pay the full annual fee. Residents joining from October will pay half the annual subscription fee. All residents will need to renew their subscription again during the renewal process in March/April for the coming year.
If you wish to join the scheme, please complete our online application form. Please note that garden bins are not provided free of charge and need to be purchased from the Council. The current cost is £23 per bin in addition to the annual subscription fee which is currently £41 per bin (online payment or automated telephone line)
Please refer to your collection calendar to confirm your garden waste collection dates.
Place your wheeled bin on your front boundary by 7am on the morning of collection and make sure your wheeled bin can be seen, do not hide it behind a wall. Collection times may vary from week to week, so it is very important that your wheeled bin is on your front boundary by 7am. For further information please refer to the terms and conditions (docx).
