Requirements
The notice must be submitted on a prescribed form and made by someone over 18 years of age.
The criteria for temporary events are:
- Up to 20 temporary events may be held at any one premises per calendar year
- An event must be less than 168 hours (seven days)
- There must be at least 24 hours between events
- There is a maximum of 26 days combined total for all events per calendar year
- The holder of a personal licence may apply for up to 50 temporary events (including 10 late notices) per calendar year (subject to no more than 12 being at the same premises)
- A person who does not hold a personal licence may apply for a maximum of 5 temporary events (including 2 late notices) per calendar year
- The maximum capacity for a temporary event is 499 persons at any given time
- A temporary event notice would be needed to facilitate any one or any combination of licensable events
Licensable activities are:
- the sale or supply of alcohol
- regulated entertainment (for example music, singing or dancing)
- provisions of late-night refreshment (hot food or drink between the hours of 23:00 and 05:00)
