Proposed Regeneration Project

On the 20th November, the Department of Levelling Up, Homes and Communities announced the eligible projects selected for Levelling Up round 3 funding. This allocation process differs to the previous rounds whereby competitive bids were invited. On this occasion, the Council’s previous submission, ‘Historic Waterfront Revival Programme’, was not selected for funding. In the list of 55 allocations there aren’t any in Essex and nearly all are over £10 million.
Whilst we have not received funding to deliver all the elements of the bid previously submitted, the team will continue to progress some areas in conjunction with stakeholders. As a reminder, we will not be submitting plans imminently and would like to take the time to meet a number of different groups and stakeholders across the quay to help refine our proposals.
Continuing this engagement will help to ensure the project is fit and ready for future funding opportunities.
