Our safeguarding policy

We have adopted a Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Policy as we are committed to protecting children, young people and adults and ensuring we embed safeguarding across all our services.

We provide our employees with training, supervision and support.

When suppliers, contractors and consultants work with us, they need to agree to follow our safeguarding standards.

Our policy is relevant to:

  • our employees

  • our elected members

  • any consultants, contractors and agency staff working for us

  • members of the public volunteering with us

  • organisations, companies and individuals who are suppliers to us

Licensing 

Maldon District Council is responsible for a wide range of licensing functions. Protecting children from harm is a licensing objective that the Council is legally obliged to consider, in particular when licensing premises under the Licensing Act 2003 or the Gambling Act 2005.
