Change Of Address

If anything changes to do with the property you own or rent, such as moving in or out, please contact us straightaway. 

Please also tell us if something changes that could affect a discount, exemption or benefit that you receive.

To speed things up, we will normally share information about your change within the Council but Data Protection rules mean that we will not pass your details on to a third party unless the law allows us to. We will sometimes share information because:

Moving out of the District

If you move out of the District please tell us the following information:

If you own your property 

  1. The date the sale of the property was completed
  2. The new owners name
  3. Your forwarding address
  4. The exact dates for any period that the property was empty and unfurnished

If you rent your property

  1. The date your tenancy agreement ceased and the date you moved out (if different)
  2. Details of your landlord/agent/housing association
  3. Your forwarding address
  4. The exact dates for any period that the property was empty and unfurnished

Moving into the District

If you move into the District please tell us the following information:

If you are buying a property

  1. The full name(s) of the owner(s) of the property
  2. The exact date the sale of the property was completed
  3. The date you are moving in (if different)
  4. The previous owners contact address if known.
  5. The exact dates for any period that the property was empty and unfurnished

If you are renting a property (tenant)

  1. The full name(s) of the tenant(s) of the property
  2. The date that your tenancy agreement commences
  3. The date you started living there (if different)
  4. Your landlord/managing agents name and address
  5. Your contact details including phone numbers, email address

If you are renting out a property (landlord)

  1. Your forwarding address and contact details including phone number and email address
  2. The exact date that you vacated the property
  3. The exact dates for any period that the property was empty and unfurnished
  4. The full name of the new tenant(s)
  5. The exact dates of the tenancy agreement
