Car parks
Free parking
All day Saturdays: free parking for 92 cars at Maldon District Council Offices and 76 cars at The Plume School, Fambridge Road.
Sundays and Bank Holidays: free parking in all town centre car parks and the The Plume School, Fambridge Road. However, parking charges apply every day of the year in the Promenade Park.
Short term
Head for the White Horse Lane, Butt Lane or High Street East Car Parks where it costs just 80p to stay for up to 1 hour.
Long term
For long term parking choose Butt Lane, High Street East or Friary Fields where you can park all day for £4. In the Promenade Park an all day ticket costs £5 - from there you can stroll along the quay, enjoy the views of the river, buy refreshments from the kiosks and perhaps picnic in the Park or around the Marine Lake.
Disabled parking spaces
Parking in all the Council's pay and display car parks is free of charge to vehicles displaying the blue disabled badge. Please park in the bays specifically reserved for disabled drivers. If these bays are full, you are still entitled to park in any other parking space except those in residents' parking zones and season ticket holder only car parks. Details of restrictions are given with disability badges.
Working in town
Choose from Butt Lane, Friary Fields or High Street East car parks for a whole day's parking at £4.
It is worth looking into getting a season ticket. These can be purchased for Butt Lane, High Street East, Friary Fields, Oakwood ( Old Market site), Silver Street and Promenade Park (all subject to availability). Please contact us for details.
Riverside day out
For a day out at the Promenade Park follow the signs for the Promenade Car Park. You can spend all day here for £5.
Coach parking
Coach Parking is available at the Promenade Park. The charges are £6 for up to 2 hours and £11 for more than 2 hours. Season tickets are available, please telephone 01621 854477.
Motorcycles
Free parking for motorcycles is available in designated spaces in White Horse Lane and Promenade Park car parks.
Cycles
There are cycle parks behind Barclays Bank, near the Library, by the recycling units in the White Horse Lane car park, Butt Lane car park and in the Council Offices car park.
Residents' parking
Residents' car parking schemes are in force in The Hythe, Wellington Road, Beeleigh Road, Fambridge Road, North Street, Mill Road, Church Street, Victoria Road, Station Road and Tenterfield Road. A parking charge notice is issued against all vehicles parking in "permit holder only" zones, when a valid permit is not on display.
