What information must be provided?
From 1 October 2026, relevant building control applications and initial notices must include Building Safety Levy information where the works relate to new dwellings or purpose-built student accommodation.
This information will enable Maldon District Council to determine whether the development is liable for the levy and, where applicable, calculate the amount due.
Applicants may also need to provide evidence supporting any exemption claimed or their qualification for the previously developed land rate.
Maldon District Council may carry out checks on the information provided and may request further information or evidence where necessary.
