When does the levy have to be paid?
Maldon District Council will issue either a levy liability notice, setting out the amount payable, or a notice of no charge where no levy is due.
The levy must be paid before the relevant completion stage. The full levy liability for the application or notice must be paid before a completion certificate can be issued or a final certificate accepted.
Where the levy has not been paid when required, building control cannot issue the relevant completion certificate or accept the final certificate, subject to the circumstances set out in the regulations.
