Notice of pre-hearing meeting (PHM)
06 June 2014
A Pre-Hearing Meeting (PHM) was held on Thursday, 3 July 2014 to discuss the management and administration of the Examination. This meeting took place in the Council Chamber, Council Offices, Princes Road, Maldon, Essex, CM0 5DL. The purpose of the PHM was only to resolve any administrative matters to ensure the smooth running of the Examination.
Inspector's letter IED03
05 June 2014
The Council has received a reply from the Inspector regarding the NPPF objective assessment of Housing need (IED03). The Council issued a response to the Inspector's letter on 6 June (CED03). The Inspector's comment on the Council's response is also included in CED03.

The Council has received a letter from the Inspector regarding the responses to the Maldon District Local Development Plan (IED02). The Council has issued a response to the Inspector's Letter (CED02).

The Council has received a letter from the Inspector regarding the NPPF Objective Assessment of Housing Need (IED01). The Council has issued a response to the Inspector's Letter (CED01).
Appointment of inspector
25 April 2014
The Secretary of State appointed Planning Inspector, David Vickery Dip T&CP MRTPI, to undertake the examination of the LDP. Before the Plan can be adopted, the Inspector must be satisfied that the Plan is legally compliant and sound.

Maldon District Council submitted the LDP to the Secretary of State for Independent Examination in accordance with Regulation 22 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012.

Appointment of programme officer

The Examination process is administered by the programme officer, Mrs Andrea Copsey who is independent from the Council and reports directly to the inspector.
